Avian Thorson Rogers

A trans artist and US Army veteran, Avian uses painting as an outlet to combat their battle with mental illness. Their work has provided them a platform to discuss issues of mental health and mental illness. The use of patterns on organic surfaces across their portfolio creates references to individual traumatic memories and the difficulty of daily mundane activities. Avian currently runs a green witch shop in Taos, NM called Taxonomy, where they spotlight artists from underrepresented groups from around the US.
